And it allows the sweat to clear. The sun does not burn through the hat and my head stays cool all day long.The face guard is fantastic. Stops the radiation from the footpaths and road. Better than sun screen.

Excellent design attention to details all round cover of your head and face, removable panels. It's also made of very thin material so absolutely no problem wearing it underneath the helmet. A must when you are cycling 4-6 hrs everyday continuously for weeks.

I recently went through some facial skin cancer treatments and needed TOTAL protection for my face. Yes I know, a little late in life. But as kids we didn't have sunscreen like today. We are sailors, so I needed something lightweight, comfy, and that would stay PUT in big wind. This does all those things. The face shield is easy to tuck up (or take off) if you don't need it. I ended up buying a couple in different colors. They wash up beautifully. I did order the larger size - I have curly hair that's about shoulder length and sometimes put it up. I don't know if the smaller size would have been as comfortable.

This has 2 individual flaps at the back. It's easy for these to come apart and let the sun onto your neck.The hat is VERY lightweight. This may be desirable for hiking where you need to carry everything. However, when walking, the smallest wind sends the flaps flying, removing the all-important neck protection.It is hard to recommend this when it doesn't fulfil its basic task of protecting my neck.
