So many piano methods try to lure music learners with slick formats, colorful pictures of bunnies and puppies, and songs that are not real, are silly and not convincing. For hundreds of years great composers have been writing literature for our enjoyment. The same great people also wrote music for their own children, amateur non-virtuosos, and their students. The Suzuki books use only great music. The progression is also carefully laid out to add on a new skill with each piece of music, if learned in order. The editing (fingerings and phrases) are excellent. But, the best thing of all is the picture of Dr. Suzuki, smiling that smile of universal love and peace that on the first page.

I like this book because it was so good and it is a good time for you and your dad to be able to share

What a shame the book has great music but my confidence was dented by the first piece by Mozart Piano Sonata 16 and the opening bars are written with a bass clef but the notes that are there only make sense when played with a treble clef. Other versions I checked show treble clef for both top / bottom. Real shame but a huge printing and proof reading error.
