I have 2 mini hubs, one at home and one on my boat. At home I monitor teperature and have an outside camera ( for safety). The curtains are opened and closed by SwitchBot. At my boat i have 6 temperature devices to monitor the engines, the 230 V powergenerator and the shower and toilet rooms so I can switch on the heating when it freezes Also a tilt camera for safety when we are at home.Everything works perfectly (after software update) and I have made others in the Sailing Club enthousiastic. This hub 2 is a unique device. It not only provides a link to Internet where data is collected and can be accessed, but can also control devices like my airco. Unfortunately are the programming possibilities relatively limited. You ca e.g. switch a device on or off when a temperature reaches a temperature and link this to a moment in time, but not a period. That makes it more difficult on-off control a temperature. Maybe in the future this programming feature will be extended. I think it’s also very nice that you can teach the Hub 2 to learn an infra red signal that e.g. switches your airco on to control a certain temperature or off and to also to heating of cooling. And that works!

Bought this to help automate my airco further, the temperature and humidity readings are accurate and the infrared blaster is a fun tool to help integrate and automate any devices you have that have a remote. I also ran the firmware update which brings Matter support and makes everything show up in Apple Home to control it from your phone or HomePod.

De hub is natuurlijk om slimme gordijnen te besturen, maar daarnaast heeft die een handige thermometer die je ook buitens huis handig kan gebruiken. Ik had hem nodig om te kijken of mijn airco zich aan de temperaturen houdt. Werkt geweldig. Er worden ook handige updates uitgebracht om bijvoorbeeld ‘s nachts geen last te hebben van veel licht door automatische helderheid toe te passen. Hij heeft namelijk ook een lichtsensor. Ook als je een slimme thermometer niet nodig denkt te hebben, had zomaar ineens heel handig zijn. En zeker omdat het meer in 1 product is en die vind ik altijd leuk. Hij is klein en doet het goed.

Rather lightweight and had some trouble not falling over in the beginning.I bought this hub along with several temperature sensors to add to apple homekit. Beware that Switchbot has a limit of 8 devices you can add to homekit though matter.For some reason this is not mentioned during reviews and specs of the device. Matter support is the sole reason why I bought this hub. Hopefully this will be fixed in future through a firmware update.If you plan to add several curtains (eg. 2 bots per set of curtains) to homekit along with the functions of the hub itself, you’ll reach the limit very quickly.Besides that, it won’t display the temperature accurately if you live in Celsius. The device is unable to display the decimal (eg. 20.4 will be 20). Which defeats the whole purpose as using it as a thermometer. It will display the right temperature in the app, but not on the display.

I purchased the Switchbot Hub 2 to accompany a Switchbot Universal Remote. I already owned a Switchbot Hub mini which sits at the other end of the house.I was interested to see which advances have been made since the release of the Hub mini.The Hub2 is easy to set up and was connected to my WiFi in seconds (once I'd remembered to disable MAC address filtering briefly on my router).I was able to 'move' some existing Switchbot devices and learned IR codes to the new Hub2 from my old Hub mini with a few button presses in the Switchbot app.Like the Hub mini, the Hub 2 is able to learn (and send!) IR commands for external devices such as TVs - allowing you to use your phone as a remote control - and also connects to Switchbot devices such as meters (temperature/humidity), door sensors, the universal remote control and other products I do not own, allowing access to some devices over the internet.The big advantage of the Hub 2 over the Hub mini is that it includes its own temperature/humidity sensors complete with a clear, lit display. The display can show the temperature/humidity that the Hub2 sensor reads (the sensor is on the usb cable) or can be set to display the temperature/humidity of any other Switchbot meters in the 'home'. It would be nice if the display could automatically alternate between sensors though.As with the Hub mini, alerts can be set for certain temperature/humidity conditions and these can now sound on the Hub 2 itself.The Hub 2 comes complete with a power adaptor (useful as it requires a 2A supply) and is very sleek in appearance.The Switchbot app allows much customisation of the Hub2 including the usual WiFi and cloud service (Google Assistant/Alexa/IFTTT) options. In addition to the Hub mini's settings, the Hub 2 includes display options and calibration settings as well as settings for Matter.As I don't own Matter devices from other manufacturers, I haven't been able to use this function fully but one added advantage for me has been that my various Switchbot temperature meters are now available as triggers for Google Assistant routines whereas 'pre-matter' Google home just showed temperature and humidity readings (although the ability to trigger 'routines' has always been available in Samsung's Smartthings app).Two configurable 'touch' buttons are available towards the bottom of the display. These can be programmed to activate 'Scenes' utilising other Switchbot devices or IR commands from this (or other) hubs. Or they can be hidden.The (older) Hub mini is a great device and has many uses beyond tying Switchbot devices together and making them available online. The Hub 2 is a worthy upgrade with its sensors and it future-proofs the ecosystem for when Matter products are more widely available.
