Absolutely delighted with the construction and finish of these brushes.The Bamboo wood used is not only aesthetically pleasing and environmentally friendly, but considerably more robust and long-lived than plastic.Every surface and edge has been smoothed out beautifully and the join between the head and handle shows no sign of flex whatsoever.The soft flexible pad (into which the pins have been set) has some kind of padding/foam behind it to make the brush compliant to uneven surfaces.These brushes run through matted wool with no issues and are prefect for the sheepskin throw I have on my sofa.

These are a very comfortable-to-hold pair of small carders.I have a pair of standard size 72 ppi wool carders and those are far bigger and more robust than these, so I would refer to these as being flick carders - suitable for single locks of fleece only, not for carding rollags for spinning a sweater's worth of fibre!These are, however, a welcome addition to my fibre toolbox.The staples are much finer and more densely packed than on my full-sized hand carders bought for sheep wool, but the listing does not quantify how many there are per inch (another common density is 108 ppi or even 120 ppi, so I think the latter is probably what this is). I can be quite heavy-handed, so am wondering how robust these will be, but used as a flicker for single locks I am certain they will be more than adequate. Generally, the higher the ppi, the finer the fibre and/or shorter the fibre length.There are occasions when I need to comb/brush some pre-spun yarn (e.g. for splicing), and keeping the smaller one of these handy in my knitting bag will be perfect for both that purpose and if I'm doing some felting.The larger of the two will definitely stay with my larger carders, and will be very useful for smaller quantities of wool.I've given 4 stars as I'm not certain how robust these will be, but I think that's probably because I'm used to the more robust type, and so maybe I've unjustly docked the 5th star as the bamboo parts are definitely well made and comfortable to hold and use.
