It is well made and works great. Kids (2yo and 4yo) really enjoy soft-boiled eggs, in large part because using this egg cracker is fun.

This gadget makes getting into my daily boiled egg much easier and more fun! Just a couple of ball drops and the top slices off with a knife, leaving no jagged edge or shards of shell.

Who would have thought that opening soft boiled eggs can be so much fun? This precision instrument creates a perfect radial crack (if you don’t try it twice on the same egg). It allows lifting off the “cap” for a perfect opening, without the risk of getting shell fragments into your egg. It’s cool when doing breakfast with friends; makes for nice comversation and competitiveness in getting the most perfect opening.

Very useful. Wish I'd shelled out for one years ago. One drop of the ball tends to be enough, and yes, one-star idiots, you do still need a knife (and preferably one kept nice and sharp) to slice through the membrane to get the top off, but the result is far superior than trying to hack it to shreds with a teaspoon: now you'll nearly always end up with a clean, wide hole, with no flakey bits of shell, and it's easy to scoop out the lovely white flesh from the removed top too! All there is now is plenty of room for your thickest soldiers to take a dunk.
