Tank HON XR650L wit

Took some modification to the mounts but it works great. I used it on an xr400

Fit my 2015 xr650l perfect, takes a little work to fit up , but fits good.

This is not easy to install. The instructions are not well written. There are spare spacers in the bag, the bracket to line up the tank and threaded bosses are crooked. Do not order this tank unless you absolutely need the fuel capacity. I would also urge you not to pay someone to install this for you. If they have experience with this tank, they will know it’s a pain in the ass and they will charge for 4 hours labor, that is a legit estimate. I spent about 5 hours in total, made some compromises, fabricated a bracket and had to omit the rubberized tank bolt under the nose of the seat as the rubber was pushing the tank up and not allowing the seat to move far enough forward to bolt in.Basically it can be installed by one person, wedging the tank is not difficult.You’re going to need to stare at the parts, instructions, motorcycle and maybe a YouTube video. Beware some of the YouTube vids show the incorrect position for petcocks and the pipe like bracket the bolts to the engine mount.I feel I need the extra gallon of gas, that was the reason. It looks decent, the quality of the plastic appears high and it is certainly lighter than OEM metal tank. Not as large, visually, as people say.
