I would be pretty confident that it would cut a new thread with ease.

What is shown in the listing is a set of taps with two toned finish with thread pitch markings and accurately cut threads.What you get is an entirely different product. Single tone and dirty, no thread pitch markings and thread teeth so awful if you use it it will either get stuck and snap and/or the tapped hole it produces will not allow a bolt to pass through. Avoid.

These thread cutters are ideal for ferrous and non ferrous metals.Good value for money.
