Works quite well. We use it to time ourselves when we steep tea.

I really thought this was an overpriced item but for my purposes it has turned out to be worth it. My 8 year old son uses it when brushing his teeth. Timers on brushes don't work for him - he's a very visual person. This has been a game changer. No more fights. Wish I'd thought of this years ago.

I specifically looked for a two minute timer that was NOT tooth shaped.In my experience, those shaped like a tooth easily tip over. I bought thistimer because it has a large stable base that keeps it from falling down .Becauseof its size, I can clearly see when time is up from across the room. Blue sand is very visible.
