I'm a first time home owner and one day in a fit of rage at the shower not draining quick enough, I ripped out part of this device, thinking it was responsible.Many months went by after that and suddenly the bathroom started to reek. Horrible drain odors, sounds banging in the pipes due to water slapping as it pulled vacuum from our now unsealed drain. Super annoying and nasty.I stumbled upon a YouTube video with one of these in it. Turns out, its also the EXACT piece the people who originally built the shower used too. I pulled out the housing from the drain with ease and then replace it with this new one. A perfect fit. Now no more smells and no more banging sounds because the pipes pull the air from the vents in the roof instead of from my bathroom.TL;DR: I was an idiot and removed this at first, realized it was a stupid thing to do and used this as a replacement piece - turns out they were exactly the same in every way. Problem solved. No stink. No noise.

Increíble, llevo usándolo casi 2 meses, por fin se acabaron los olores en los baños, y lo sorprendente es que traga rápido. Tuve la suerte de que encaja perfecto quitando el paraguas del sifón y añadiendo un par de vueltas de teflón.

Tut was es soll. Kein übelstinkender Geruch mehr. Die Firma die mir mein Badezimmer renoviert hat, hatte das Teil verschlampt und wollte ein neues nachbestellen. Ich hatte keine Geduld weil dieser Geruch sehr unerträglich war und bestellte auf deren kosten das hier.Zum Thema mit dem kleinen loch. Dieser führt genau so wie das Wasser in den Siphon. Aus dem Siphon dann in den Abfluss. Das besagte mini loch ist nicht direkt mit dem Abfluss verbunden.Würd ich wieder kaufen, ganz klar.
