The photos and tekst suggested that the device can be placed outside on a window but the instruction manual says its for indoor use only. When it turns out to be defect than I will have to return it.

Buon termometro da esterno, si attacca al vetro fuori dalla finestra con una piccola ventosa. Tenere conto che la temperatura segnalata non è perfetta in corrispondenza di quella vera esterna perchè comunque rimane vicino a una zona riparata e quindi segna 1 o 2 gradi in più di quella reale all'aperto, basta tenerne conto...

Dommage que la température ne s’affiche pas sur l’arrière, afin de pouvoir lire de l’intérieur ET de l’extérieur !

This is my second window thermometer. The first one worked for me over 20 years!What I would wish to improve for even better usability is providing a brighter background for better visibility of digits.
