It took me ages to find the perfect bottle for olive oil in the kitchen. This ticks all the boxes and I’m really pleased I was so fussy.It’s borosilicate glass and silicone so the oil is not leaching toxins from plastics. The silicone is used for the pouring top so any contact is very brief. The cap is plastic.The silicone cap fits on top of the pourer and appears to form an airtight seal.The tall thin shape means the oil had less surface exposure to air. Contact with air affects oil badly and that includes the air in the bottle as well as open air. This is why many expensive speciality oils come in very tall very thin bottles (which also get knocked over and don’t fit in most cupboards). This bottle shape is a reasonable compromise.The glass is light and thin but being borosilicate, will not break easily.You can see when it needs topping up.When the caps are removed the glass flask has a wide neck and is easily refillable from large cans of oil without using a funnel.It fits neatly into a wall cupboard without taking up excess space or needing excess height.The pourer does not drip, or at least any drips there are run back into the bottle.The oil stream is a bit fine for lavish kitchen use but it is very controllable and I can always take the lid off or pour for longer.The glass only gets smeary when I handle to bottle with mucky hands. It wipes clean easily. It can go in the dishwasher.It looks good in a contemporary kitchen and although I keep oil in a cupboard away from harmful light, it would look good on a counter top. It looks good when plonked on the table although the 250ml size might be better.There are matching vinegar bottles with red lids.I found this bottle through reading German reviews. Germans are very fussy about toxins in oil and other food which is reassuring. It’s made by an Italian company, and they should know their oil, and what a busy cook needs. It may be cheaper to buy from Italy or Germany even taking into account currency costs and postage (until we Brexit).

Visually it won't mesmerize your guests if you put that in the table, but while cooking it's a reliably clean and light recipient.Also, not expensive.

Vraiment très satisfaite de cette bouteille, le bouchon verseur tient très bien et est absolument parfait :seul un petit filet d'huile sort de la bouteille, ça ne goutte pas grâce à la présence d'un petit trou dans le caoutchouc de ce bouchon verseur. Le bouchon qui se met par dessus par contre ne tient pas bien, je l'ai donc définitivement envelé et ce n'est pas gênant. Je recommande cette bouteille !
