I didn't buy this tape for upholstery but instead bought it for my parents rug as they have a massive rug in their lounge. The rug seems to gather up in the centre like a hump and sort of travels over the room but being such a weight it's not easy for my 70 something old parents to keep shifting as it's heavy. In the past they have tried all manner of things from webbing to grips and even bailing to the floor but all had failed. I got the idea when accidentally catching somexwool fibres on a velcro closed pencil case and set about looking for a good width of hook and loop. Their problem is that their rug sits on short pile carpet and not a hard floor but everything is aimed at stopping rugs from slipping on a hard floor. I loved the idea that this hook and loop had a sticky back too making it easy to adhere to the underside of the rug.We first tried stocking the hook to the underside of the rug un the hope the little hooks would katch onto the fibres if the carpet but as their carped was a twist pile and not a loop pile it didn't work. So they next stuck the loop to the carpet but first sticking to the hook velcro and then placing onto the carpet so everything was aligned. BINGO!! This has worked a treat and no more sliding!!! I hope the seller can maybe supply other colours of hook and loop as for rugs into carpet this is a must and more wider widths too.
