The Art of Brusho: a guide to beautiful paintings

I haven't had the paints very long, so still getting used to working with the intense colours. What fun they are! I'm still getting used to the new technique and really enjoying it. I've been digging out my old paintings that were set aside as less than perfect and adding the Brusho paints. What a difference. Even the failed paintings are fun, and giving me new ideas to use them. As soon as I get a little more experience with the 12 pack, I'll be ordering more colours.

This is a great book for both new and experienced artists. Very interesting step-by-step demonstrations with a variety of subjects. Lots to learn from the book using different techniques and products with Brusho. Your art work will become more interesting and expressive!

I am so happy I bought this book. I probably would have been very frustrated or wasted a lot of product unless I read through this book first. I haven't seen a ton of videos on how to use powdered watercolors so I learned a lot. The book begins with a recommended list of supplies, some basic art theory (I learned a few new things there) and then many "technique" sections including using Brushos with salt, bubbles, bleach, India ink, waterproof pens, liquid acrylic paint, etc. She has step by step instructions for making the painting in the upper photo on the cover and many other paintings equally beautiful using the techniques in the book. If you can believe it, this painting was done in only 4 colors! All of the demonstrations in the book use colors from the Brusho 12 Color set. There are a few paintings on gallery pages where you don't get a step by step how to but they are examples of techniques she does share in the book and she includes the name of the colors she used if they are not in the 12 color set. She is a professional artist, and sells her paintings in art galleries and I am amazed at how much she shares in this book (so rare!). The publisher is a liitle questionable when it comes to a few things like different fonts on the same page (what?) but it doesn't really detract from the book. It has of a self published feel to the book if that makes sense, however, they did a stand out job reproducing her artwork in the full color images, many are full page sized! There are a few words/terms in British English that were not familiar to me but you can get the gist of the meaning in the context in which they are written. If you love the idea of using any brand of watercolors in powdered form, and haven't spent a lot of time studying the various ways in which you can use them, I highly recommend this book!

Livre très complet décrivant toutes les techniques de la peinture au Brusho, et aussi de l'aquarelle, et surtout très abordable.Pour reproduire les oeuvres de l'auteur, qui sont magnifiques, chaque étape est soigneusement décrite, et les pièges à éviter son mentionnés.Il n'y a plus qu'à tenter l'aventure avec le Brusho !
