The Big Book of Irish Songs: 100 Songs + Chord charts for Guitar, Ukulele, Mandolin, Banjo, Dulcimer and Merlin

This book had a nice collection of popular Irish songs. Since I play trumpet, I found the larger print helpful as I wrote in notes to help me transpose the music. This book was the source for the Irish songs our group played to entertain RV park residents at this year’s St. Patrick’s Day socially distance gathering around the swimming pool.

Learning new songs

there are good songs and some decent chord charts for the various string instruments and that is true, however, the main book is set up for guitars only. with there respective chord charts for guitar only. so you need to know theses songs in advance, because all the chord charts for the various instruments are in the back of the book, totally separate from the songs itself. The music diagrams are also only set up for the guitar. So unlike other books, which has the music and chords, already with the music on the same page, clearly visible. You are on your own.

100 magnifiques chansons irlandaises dans un livre joliment présenté. Grand format. Je regrette simplement que les accords guitare aient été simplifiés, on perd en couleurs harmoniques et puis seules les premiers couplets sont renseignés, pour les autres -présents sur la page de droite il faudrait les récrire soi-même mais il y a peu de place entre les lignes. Bref j'imprime quand même mes morceaux irlandais depuis internet. Le livre reste utile pour une première approche "catalogue " mais pas pour mes concerts.
