I am finding this book very good. I am only on grade 1 as I am really only a beginner who hasn’t progressed very far as I’m self taught. This book somehow is making me use the correct fingering and timing and so far I’m liking the sound I am playing, which to me is a great incentive. I would recommend this to someone in a similar position. I’m looking forward in working my way through each grade and giving me regular practice too. If you can read music but feel sometimes your losing some incentive because you are trying to play something that’s a bit dull, try some classical music.

This book is full of great music and it's well edited and presented for the advanced pianist. I've come to look for the Hal Leonard brand because I find I'll be happy with anything I get with his name on it. The arrangements are true to the original and not too "bent" with strange chords and elaborations that don't belong there.

My wife played piano and added flute (self taught) while in high school, into college, but like so many, ended up having to stop as life and time took over. She’s been aching to get back and recently we were able to get an electric piano for her. It’s been years since she last played, so feeling like she needed a refresher, she found this The Classical Piano Solos Collection and simply loves it.It is laid out well and what she most appreciates is that it has a solid offering of music, progressing from easier pieces, through moderate, and finally into more complicated. While getting back into playing has been like riding the preverbal bike, it still takes time to get the muscles back into gear and fully built up. After only a couple days she felt like she could step forward again, and with daily practice (a long-lost joy) she has already progressed, bringing with that joy an appreciation for what she’d been missing. She loves this The Classical Piano Solos Collection and sits down daily to practice. She also thanks me daily for making this possible - something I am thrilled we could do. I think any musician would understand, being able to do this again is good for the soul and having music that makes it enjoyable is all the better.
