One of the best albums ever recorded. If you don’t have this in your collection then just buy it.

Il faut aimer l'esthétique de Steely Dan pour aimer ce disque très sophistiqué dans les arrangements, à mi-chemin entre le jazz et le pop-rock. Les compositions aussi sont extraordinaires, toutes. Bref un disque à étudier dans les écoles, et qui à mon avis n'a pas pris une ride en dépit du fait qu'il date de 1982. J'aime tout, mais en particulier Maxine, une ballade en 12/8, avec son solo de Michael Brecker, court mais d'anthologie.

Sublieme kwaliteit

1982年か1983年だったと思いますが、当時はFM雑誌の他に月刊のオーディオ誌を購読していました。新製品のサウンドチェックのために、このアルバムが使われたこともありました。個人的にはカッコいいというかお洒落なジャケットだなと思いました。それじゃ、ということで買ってみたのですが、当時高校生だった私でも、曲は何ともカッコよく、お洒落だなというのが最初に聴いた後の感想でした。表題曲を聴いて歌詞を読めば納得のジャケットです。
