When it is time to do maintenance on your device, this is when it is advantageous to improve on a few things. This is the perfect time to use parts, that are better that what came from the factory. Sometimes, after a product is manufactures, improvements, in related technology, are made. If this is a possibility for you, and especially, if you have an older card, this is a great time to do this. I know there are people out there that have great hardware. Much of this hardware, is ageing. But, we still love to play with them. With older hardware, I find that these are the Components, and Parts, that I tend to play with, more. And, these are also the parts, that get overclocked, experimented-on, and pushed to their actual. This activity, is fun to do, at any level. Another use-case, for upgraded refurbished parts, is for Components, that are just known, to be a little toasty, and solutions for these issues, may be produced, later. So, what can happen to some components, is that they may have never run as well, until the refurb. This is also a with while thing to do. An older Component, that has been used, and needs a good cleaning. This is the best time to install, and replace thermal interface, between the cooler/heatsink cold-plates, and the components, that get hot enough, to require an actively-passive, like an M.2 cooler heatsink, or active Cooling, like in graphics cards with fans. For older components, or even new ones, depending on your application, all benefit from advanced cooling technology. With a refurb., you get more life, out of older components. New(er) components, you are going for the long haul! For the best component lovers, the top performance, from day one, and for the duration of the components life. This is what drives the technology. It's also fun to know, you are getting a bit more performance(older cards maybe more), by adding upgraded parts, to complete the job. The overall ability to transfer heat away from components, is the superpower of thermal interface material.
    PROS:
If you are getting ready to Refurbish, or Building New, it is a good idea to make a list of needs. You do have the chance to make a big difference, so you want to put together the supplies, and parts, to do a complete, and thorough job. To get started, Thermal Interface Material will be needed, for making contact between the Components, and The Cooler, or Heatsink. For Thermal Pads, a Great Choice, will be These, Thermal Grizzly Minus Pad Advance – 4-Pack Thermal Interface Pad, 120x20x1.5mm, Electrically Non-Conductive, High Thermal Conductivity & Compressibility for SSDs, GPUs & Electronics, from The Thermal Grizzly Store. This is Thermal Interface Material, Cut into Useable Strips. This is a, Well Trusted Brand. If a Part needs Thermal Interface Material, of some sort, Thermal Grizzly, has different Solutions. These Minus Pads, are cool enough, you can feel the, "Cool-Spot", through the package! Measure Twice, Cut Once!
    CONS:
Placing Thermal Pads, is not difficult. Knowing which Components, how thick a Pad should be, and if it is making good contact with the Heatsink/Cooler, is very important. These Thermal Pads, can be Cut, and Stacked. They are a convenient Size, for Memory Chips, of different Types.

5,0 van 5 sterren Perfect Fit, Fantastic Cooling!

This specific size is absolutely perfect for those narrow strips on VRMs, laptop components, or even some memory modules that other pads are just too wide for. Performance-wise, it's typical Thermal Grizzly excellence my temps dropped noticeably, keeping things stable under load. The pads are incredibly easy to work with. If you've got components needing precise, high performance thermal attention in tight spots, this size is a winner. Overall pretty satisfied.

5,0 van 5 sterren out beats the minus pad 8 in performance

so i have a raspberry pi 5 with a simple 40mm x 40mm x 11mm. since i had the older minus pad 8 i figured that i would compare the advance performance against the older generation. so i ran some stressberry tests to compare what some different temperatures would look like. 1 with the minus pad 8 with a fan, then with out a fan, then comparing it with the advance. as we can see from the picture the fan obviously helps a lot. but both the minus pan 8 and the minus pad advance both does a good job at keeping the temperature down so that it doesnt throttle. though there is a clear difference in performance between the temperature of the minus pad 8 and advance. we can easily see both starting at the same baseline temps then advance does a better job transferring the heat to the heat sink to dissipate which also helps in the recover time after.
very happy with the performance which should help a lot during hot summer days. right now the ambient in the room is 66f

5,0 van 5 sterren Great quality pads, certainly an improvement over stock thermal pads.

These are quality thermal pads for my SSD. I used one pad for an M.2 SSD that's installed inside of an external enclosure. I used the other pad for an M.2 SSD that was installed on my computer's motherboard that has a metal heat sink plate. In both instances, I did have to cut the thermal pads to properly fit on top of my SSD. I just had to take out the plastic piece and from there it was easy to measure, cut, and install.
I'm impressed with the heat dissipation that the thermal pads are able to help with. Usually, when I do large file transfers, my SSD inside of the external enclosure would thermal throttle after a while and speeds would slow down. However, with this I'm able to remain at steady speeds without a significant drop in speeds.
Overall, I'm very happy with how the thermal pads have helped keep my SSD temperatures low. They're easy to cut and install. The thermal pads compress nicely and I feel confident that good contact is being made between the heat sink and the drive.
