Thundershirt Fear Jacket voor honden, M, grijs

My Jack Russell x would get very anxious (stressed and shaking) with thunder storms, when insects were in the house, and when having to go to the vet. Before trying anti-anxiety medication suggested by one of the vets, I thought I would try the thundershirt. It’s worked brilliantly. When she gets anxious, the shirt goes on and it calms her right down. She is no longer frightened going to the vets and, instead of becoming reactive (growling and trying to bite the vet), she is now happy to go to her appointments and the vet can give her her monthly injections without any reactive behaviour. In the vets words, they are now ‘BFF’s’! Thoroughly recommend. It may depend on the dog, but it’s worth a try before having to resort to medication.

Absolutely essential for a high strung or fearful dog. It provides a somewhat tight pressure to his abdomen and chest, which is know to prove effective for calming other species.We used it daily in the beginning as he was so skittish. As he became more comfortable with us, we used it to help pen our dog (not a crate, but more in line with a playpen where he can walk around, eat, sleep, play with toys or chewies and rest on his bed.)He is now able to spend hours in the pen when we both are out (not often but sometimes unavoidable) and there is rarely, if ever, a bark or whine (sometimes one is out and the other needs to work in the office so safest place is in the pen.) We give him lots of cuddles and affection when we are around and not working.It has been a wonderful help to train our dog not to be afraid, without medication or harsh punishments.
