Old music stand another make broke, so new one needed by twelve year old son. Trying to read music with book placed on cushions not the ideal way whilst playing the violin.It had to be black and one that could be folded down when not needed, this one fitted the bill perfectly. Oh and one that did not wobble when placed on carpet. Not wanting much! I wanted one for him that also fitted his needs but not too expensive either. So this with free delivery and a good price compared to a lot of the others sounded like it would be fine. It is just what he needed and fitted my price range.It folds down to a nice size and easy enough to put up, no instructions came with this (maybe just mine). However after already having had a one which looks very much alike it was easy to work out.It fits his music books on fine, no wobbles and does seem easy to alter the height when required. Hopefully this one will last longer than his previous one (plastic knobs seemed to be brittle and break off). Will update at a later date to see how it is wearing.

Bought as a replacement for another cheap stand on which the tightening screws for the main support failed after a year. This one has survived 6 months of heavy daily use so far, with no issues other than both of the little spring arms that help hold music on the stand have fallen off, along with one of the rubber feet. My only other complaint is that the shelf could be a bit wider and offer a little more support - it can only comfortably hold one pad of paper music. For any very large/heavy/awkward folders you might use it might be worth forking out a little more for a stand with a solid back.Otherwise, very good. Light and easily portable, black and professional looking for concerts, easy to put up and take down quickly. Very happy for the price.Update: thread gone on the top adjuster. Stand lasted about 8 months of heavy use.
