They look well made and has no rough edges.The flashcards are double sided. It is coated with matte finish waterproof material. It contains pictures and outline of the word to be spelled. The illustrations are nice and colourful.My son will start reception next month so we do a lot of different types of activities at home to give him a kick start. This is a great toy to develop his spelling skills and at the same time we can practice his language skills and enrich his vocabulary.It costs £12.99 at the time of this review which is pretty decent. Recommended!

Excellent toy that makes learning to spell fun. I have played this with my 3 year old twins as well as my 8 year old and although there is such a large age gap its been fantastic with all the kids as there are so many different words to work on. This is a great game to encourage parent and child bonding while helping your children learn their letters, spelling and even colours. The aim of the game is to use the wooden letters to spell the words of the pictures on the cards, the letters are on there already to help younger children to match them together. When you have finished playing it comes with a bag to help to encourage your child to tidy the game up after and helps store the game tidily while taking up leads space this game has been great during the school holidays especially with the bad weather. My Granddaughter is 3 in October, but she begins Pre-school earlier in September as she's getting on very well. I gave this to her to practice her spelling to prepare her for Pre-school. It's amazing because the dots really guide them through the process, we would mix it up and give her letters for the middle of a word that we're not complete to try and confuse her. We would have her ask for the next letter and help her sound it out, in the phonics too. She spelt Ship on her own and we were so impressed with her, the dots really help but try covering a letter to help them sound the word out first. Our Granddaughter breezed through these and not just that she really loves them, she wanted to play with them over and over because there are so many cards and there are different pictures on each side so always look at the back of a card. :) The colours are interesting too and my Granddaughter would tell us each of the colours and really engaged in her speech for these. I really reccomend these if you're preparing your child for School, it's a massive step but we're doing these over the Summer holidays too and by the end of the 6 weeks this is really going to prepare her.
