This is my second Triton router, the other one being the larger 3.25hp model (mounted in a router table). I needed a plunge router with a round base. Every other router has a flat side on the base which makes it more difficult to use in jigs that align with the base instead of the a collar. It has plenty of power to do just about anything you would want to do safely with a handheld router and would probably be plenty for mounting in a router table (it comes with the above table hand crank, which works perfectly). I understand the idea behind the safety cover on the power switch but it does sometimes make it awkward to operate. There are plenty of reviews online that show the more common features of this router so I won’t get into it in this review. I do like the gear driven knob to raise and lower the bit and the lock is in a very reasonable position to operate without having to look over the other side of the router. I really enjoy that it has a dust collection hook up already and it comes with the edge guide base with a circle cutter guide built-in. If you were looking for one router to do it all in your shop, whether a home shop or professional, I could highly recommend the Triton as my other one has been working hard for several years now. Just for comparison I do also own 3 Porter Cable 690’s (the 90th Anniversary version), 1 DEWALT DW621 and 2 Bosch 1617’s with the plunge and fixed base.

Can't say enough about this router. It has the best features of any router I have owned. I love that it has built in lift capacity and one hand bit changing capabilities. I use it in my router table and hand held and I love the performance. I plan to get another one, perhaps the 3.25 hp model to see what the extra power gives me. Don't get me wrong though, this model (2.25hp) has more than enough power for the big jobs. There are plenty of reviews on YouTube and the only one that had a negative tone was one where the guy who bought it broke the tool by his own mistake. A dire il vero non l'ho ancora usata, lo farò presto. Ero titubante nell'acquisto perché a suo tempo avevo acquistato della stessa marca la lamellatrice. La meccanica di quest'ultima è decisamente approssimativa. le varie parti si accoppiano male.Poi quando è arrivata questa fresatrice sono rimasto colpito: è meccanica di precisione nel senso vero del termine. Niente giochi o incertezze nei movimenti. Molto bello il sistema di blocco del mandrino per il cambio frese. La manovella di sollevamento poi, che ve lo dico a fare? Certo il motore è da 1400 W, vedremo come se la caverà con le frese più impegnative (grande diametro). Non capisco perché TRITON (e anche CMT) non producano un modello da 2000 W anziché quello da 2400 W. Abbiamo in molti il problema dell'impianto elettrico casalingo che non regge oltre i 3500-3600 W se va bene.
