Good book, well explained & easy to follow. But could be improved or have a further follow up book.I've now nearly worked my way through the book, it's helped me a lot. I do feel that progress has been made, it especially helped me to start to read the music instead of using tabs.When you start to play using music instead of just tabs, it certainly helps with the rhythm of the piece being played.WELL RECOMMENDED.

My kids and I went through Easy Ukulele, and loved it - so it seemed logical to purchase this more advanced book and songbook and we're not at all disappointed we did! This book builds on Pierre's previous instructions while giving us a greater variety of actual songs to play (and even some to sing along to!) The layout is great, clear, easy to follow. The instructions and author's comments are clear, concise, and really do get out of the way of the music. That being said, this book really does take you through all the basic instructional steps to get started on your Ukulele. Even if you've never used another book, or never had a single lesson, this book can get you off the ground, and give you TONS of great stuff to play and have fun with! A perfect mix between an instructional book and a collection of basic sheet music! This book really is a self contained music teacher - and when you add in the videos on YouTube, and Pierre's easy, patient way of walking you through things, we have saved TONS on lessons, tons of frustrations with bad music teachers, and bottom line is : we are ALL playing music around the house now thanks to this book, this series, and this one YouTube channel. I bought this book as a gift to encourage my daughter to pick up her ukulele again. I am pleased it covers all the basics, which she will need to refresh, and can then take her beyond strumming to learn to read notes and tabs and play songs I know she will enjoy.The photos, graphics and text are clear and easy to understand and there are plenty of exercises to reinforce what she is learning. I am confident this book will give her the encouragement and skills she needs.
