Fits well once you figure out that the top hinge part is slightly different than the original. I had no trouble at all with installing it and using it. In fact, its sliding lock mechanism at the bottom is slightly shorter than the GoPro battery cover door which allows you to open and close the door with the mounting screw installed (OEM GoPro doesn't).This is for Hero 8 external battery charging/external mic Gong-show GoPro created by making the body somewhat waterproof without an outer case. Typical these days of marketing and profits taking precedence over design and functionality. If you want to use your $400 camera with an external mic, you have to buy the $75 adapter and use the camera with the battery door removed and risk having the battery fall out. Clearly designed by someone in finance.So this door fits well, looks good and seems to be well made. If it had GoPro stamped on it instead of Ulanzi, it would be $150...(still ranting...sorry). Remember than when you use this door your battery will be secure, you'll have access to the USB-C charging port/external mic adapter but your camera will no longer be waterproof.

Fit my gopro hero 8 perfectly and never have had an issue. It's been on it for a few years and still works great.

Product works amazing. Fits well on the camera and solves a problem that GoPro should have never even had.Their older cameras didn’t have this issue. And for some reason, they thought it would be a great idea to put the mic/charging port under the same door as the battery.So if you want to connect a mic to the camera and use it, your battery falls out.Absolutely awful design on GoPro’s behalf but at least this door solves the problem.

FINALLY. I just got into the whole action camera thing for mountain biking and... motorcycles. The Go-Pro 8 is GREAT for mountain biking after adding the little dead cat, but for motorcycles... there are no options at the time of this review.Enter, this side cover. As you can see it clips on perfectly and fits the microphone adapter exactly how all of us want.Obviously you lose water resistance but that’s the case when using the mic adapter no matter what.This does exactly what you think it does, is machined well, which I wasn’t expecting, and got here quickly, which I also wasn’t expecting.
