It is easy to be a little lazy when jacking up a vehicle, I'll admit that, stupidly, I've used a number of different materials (pieces of rubber, cardboard, etc) between a bottle jack and the vehicle when doing a quick lift for a tire change to prevent scratching the car (I never go under the vehicle with just a bottle jack in place though!). A product like this support pad is a great, simple, safer solution than my homespun versions. This fits nicely over the bottle jack head and gives firm support, yet has a small amount of flexibility to improve grip. The only thing to mention is make sure you note the size of your bottle jack to make sure the pad will fit. It works on my smaller bottle jacks but did not fit on my 10 ton bottle jack as the plate is around 31.75 mm, bigger than this pad is meant to fit.
