These worked great on my MK2 GTi. Got rid of the sloppy shifter problem. Super easy to replace.

Good kit had everything to do all your linkages under the hood no idea why there's 2 extra bushings in the kit there only 2 of those size required for the relay lever and the 2 larger go on the relay shaft.And for the one review complaining about the orange bushing didn't work don't bother its a perfect fit for the shift shaft had no issues getting it in without drilling out the rivets. I just put it in some hot water to get it a little pliable and greased it up then popped it in with some channel locks.

Like the other folks say, if you have shifting problems, the main thing you probably need is the relay ball, which I got as part of the relay shaft assembly - URO Parts (1H0 711 173) Relay Shaft Lever. I think the main improvement is from the relay shaft, but these bushings went in easily and my shifting is dramatically better than it was and this kit is cheap enough to just do it. I couldn't reliably get all the way into second before rsulting in occasional grinding and finding all the gears was like tapping around with a white cane or something.I didn't see any existing thing that looked like the orange one included in this kit, so I don't know what that's for, maybe something in the passenger compartment.I would like this kit better if it included the little plastic dog bone linkages. Mine have a lot of rust in them and new ones would likely be an improvement.Search for Dan's VW Page for really good help. (No, I'm not Dan.)
