Using it to program a Dragino RS485-LN LoRaWAN endpoint and it works perfectly. This is a standard UART-spec compliant device. Note that LGs aren't.

Same problem reported as another review. Title should not say it works with LG TV, which requires crossover RXD (Tip), TXD (Ring), GND (Sleeve). Haven't found any direct adapters, just 3.5 to DB9, no USB, then use a crossover DB9 adapter.

Needed to connect to BOSE stereo, did not fit the bill.As others point out the left and right channels are reserved. The voltage levels are correctly in the 0-5V range but INVERTED for what BOSE uses. This cable outputs 5V idle with 0V signal, however the BOSE needed 0V idle with 5V signals. I tried to find a way to invert this signal using driver settings but came up empty handed.Disappointed because I bought this cable because I wanted to do away with external converters, but maybe others can learn from my mistake.Edit: I actually found a linux program ft232r_prog that reprograms the FT UART to invert the RX and TX signals.I still had to swap the TX/RX wires.

We had to deal with an older model hospitality LG TVs that have been programmed via TTL cable before and were not accepting any other type of programming. Finding this cable on Amazon saved us time (delivered next day) and allowed finalizing the project on time! Worked as expected!

Certainly isn't plug and play. I don't know if this is a Windows issue or the cable. Any fixes I can find on the Internet are extremely involved and pretty complicated. Not worth messing with it since I don't even know if it will resolve the problem.
