I had purchased the UTG Max Strength LE Grade Quick Detach Picatinny Scope Rings (2 Piece, 30mm Diam, 4-Screw Hi Profile) to re-mount a Center Point 30mm red/green dot sight to my favorite MSR; a Windham Weaponry “SRC”, because the original sight rings were too low for my needs and I wanted to eliminate using a “scope riser” to bring the sight up to the height that I desired.The UTG Max Strength LE Grade Quick Detach Picatinny Scope Rings (2 Piece, 30mm Diam, 4-Screw Hi Profile) are of excellent quality and incorporates a padded spacer that helps to protect the sight/scope.Follow the direction provided with the rings, which provide the recommended tightening sequence and the torque setting. For installing the Center Point 30mm red/green dot sight, I used the Wheeler Professional Reticle Leveling System ( and the Wheeler Fat Wrench ( One note about the installation: The mounting screws are metric; you will need to have a separate metric hex-head bit because the Wheeler Fat Wrench bits are all SAE.The QD mounts securely fasten the scope mounts to a Picatinny rail. I did find that one mount gave me a problem when first attempting to adjust for the proper Picatinny rail mounting tension; I had to back the set screw all the way out to get the lever to seat properly. After several attempts to seat the mount, the adjustment screw finally provided the correct amount of tension without straining the lever. I had no problem with the other supplied mount.The rings are of excellent quality and when the installation is completed, holds the sight firmly in place, but they are quick to detach should I need to install a scope or use the BUIS.When installed, the sight was at the perfect height (for me) and allowed me to co-witness the BUIS exactly where I like it (at the tip of the front sight). A lot stronger once in place than I thought they would be. Well built and having taken off and put back several times there is very little or no variation in targeting which has been a nice surprise.
