I do like the versatility of these clamps. You can connect a round scaffold pole to a box section mast, box to box, pole to pole and any combination - by reversing the V jaws.There are 3 sets of clamps (doubles) included but I do live in a relatively high wind area (up to 50mph) and even though they are described as heavy duty I am a little worried that the threaded bar might get stripped under a heavy gust. I have to admit that on tightening I was a little worried about overtightening for this exact reason. The old adage "tight is tight but too tight is bust" comes to mind and also have concerns that the threaded bar may also bend. For this reason, I am clamping an 8' section of 1.25" mast to a scaffold pole but only 5.5' is protruding. For security, I am using all 3 clamps and I have placed double nuts on the ends together with loctite.The two included wrenches are adequate for securing the nuts but only under medium torque. Maybe this is why I am being careful to NOT overtighten.So, with a question mark over the longevity under strong wind, I award this 4 stars. Price is fair but even though they are described as "heavy duty", the threaded rods are only about M4. I would expect to see M6 or more to truly be classed as heavy duty.
