Fed up with buying plastic scoops which snap in no time I bought this and was amazed how robust it was made. Non stick coating makes easy cleaning and a decent size makes quick work of cleaning those hardened lumps of litter. I would say I would buy again but I think this will last a lifetime.

Yes, I realize that saying "Best Scooper I have ever owned" is a bit dramatic however when you are trying to scoop very clumped clay because you have a diabetic cat who uses the litter box often having a good scooper is important. I have had plastic ones in the past and still own one but as soon as it goes I'll be replacing it with this one for a few key reasons.The last scooper I purchased was metal and I thought this would solve the strength issue but I was wrong. In relatively no time the basket section separated from the handle either because of cheap welding or the way I use it. Either way it didn't last nearly as long as it should have. This scooper is made of one piece of metal, which means no weld to separate. The specs don't point this out but it will make a difference over time.The basket is deep so nothing falls out the sides and the holes are large enough that the unused litter falls right through but small enough that nothing unwanted ends up back in the litter box. There is a coating on it to almost like Teflon, which it isn't that material but it is very smooth making it almost non-stick. The handle has a rubber grip, which makes it easy to use. The handle itself purposely doesn't go all the ways to the basket and the top two inches are so do not have any metal running through it so the first time you use it the top of the handle "gives" a little but not enough that it causes any issues.This is an excellent scooper and I would purchases it again and/or recommend it to a friend.How I rate products:When I give a rating to a product said product automatically starts with four stars as I rarely will purchase anything below four stars. I then add and/subtract stars based on certain criteria as listed below.1. If an item is exactly what I expected and nothing more it will receive a four star rating2. If an item surpasses my expectations it will gain a star (5 Stars)3. If an item goes slightly below my expectations it will lose a star (3 Stars)4. If the instructions for the product (if needed) are poorly written (hard to understand due to language issues or grammar) or just too hard to follow it will lose a star no matter if the product meets or exceed my expectations5. If a product is significantly below my expectations I will deduct two stars6. It will be rare that I would give a product one star since I buy mostly items that have a 4+ rating but in rare instances there may be a good reason that even a four star product receives a one star rating from me. It could be because of customer service issues from the company but whatever the case is I will clearly explain my reason for giving a product only one star
