I initially purchased this router to do some minor DIY jobs which it did, I've since tried to put some slots in some timber this is where the problems start, it struggles to cut a 19mm slot more than 3mm deep, I had to first use a smaller dia bit to start it which didn't really surprise me but even that had to be completed in stages. During the cuts the speed would keep dropping off due to the speed control moving, which it did with the slightest vibration, I also found that where the router was clamped in its housing that would also move causing you to lose the depth setting. The collet holding the router bit had to be tightened with in my opinion excessive force to prevent the bit from moving as well.The guides also needed some work to prevent them from moving all over the place when cutting.The depth adjustment is basically a waste of time as the "rack & pinion" has so much backlash that it tends to jam when trying to move it.I was considering either purchasing or making a table for the router but after this performance I wont bother as I don't think it will be capable of finishing this job that I'm doing, I fully expect it to burn out before I get much further.It coped with the initial job I purchased it for which was very light work, but if you want to do anything more substantial then don't buy this go for something that has more power to cope with the heavier cuts.
