These are excellent socks made in Latvia sold by Vitsocks, a registered Austrian company. The length of the socks laying flat is 22 inches, which translates into a 17-inch height when wearing them on. For a 6-foot tall, mesomorph male like myself, the length is indeed optimal and the socks comfortably reach slightly below the knee as correctly shown in the images of this page. My shoe size varies between 9 and 9.5 with different manufacturers, and the size of these socks for 8.5-9.5 shoe sizes provides a perfect fit.Although this model (Classic, MCL-KneRb) is described as "100% mercerized cotton" here and in the English, German, and Portuguese versions of the Vitsocks website, its French version describes them as made of 80% mercerized cotton -- the 20% left would be polyamide. At any rate, the mercerization is of 100% cotton (likely Italian, S-twisted, 2-ply thread) that easily absorbs moisture and provides some ventilation. Further, the socks have 2% spandex added to the 1.5-inch cuff, which manages to keep them in place without any compression discomfort or affecting blood circulation, and 2% nylon added to the heel and toe parts to reinforce stress zones. A flat toe seam aims to prevent skin irritation around the toe region. Machine wash inside out with like colors. Do not bleach, tumble dry, iron, or dry clean.While all the Vitsocks available encompass a large selection of colors, it is a pity this model is limited to only two. The price, when considered per pair, is only 40 cents higher than the equivalent in euros in the Vitsocks website (which includes free shipping within the E.U. as well). Thus, unlike a number of other overseas products, the price is not exaggeratedly inflated by transportation costs, and is a good value for socks of this quality.
