This mount is a pretty simple yet effective way to attach a camera to a vesa mount monitor with a few potential downsides that may or may not be easily overlooked depending on your use case. In my case any of the listed downsides have little impact on the quality of the the experience of using this product, but your mileage may vary. First off, this has very sturdy construction and easily holds my Canon Eos 80D SLR with any of the lens that I plan on using with it. It fits perfectly on the vesa mounting bracket and the holes line up on both of the the mount patterns. The holes are threaded perfectly and the included thumbscrews turn easily allowing for a painless installation process. The thumbscrews are a bit on the longer side but I had no issue with interference although someone looking for clean look might be put off. The 1/4 20 screw for mounting the camera to the plate did require a screw driver to secure it, but I do not need to regularly remove the camera so I don't really mind. The mount slides into the plate and should be easily removable using a tab of spring steel. I say should, but in my case the stand interferes with its removal, again really not an issue since I do not intend on removing the camera regularly. I have no issues accessing any of the various doors (battery, memory card, data cable) or attaching or removing the lens. The small amount of play in the camera mount doesn't impact my usage as I do not require precise placement and once the camera is placed it doesn't shift on its own. If you aren't really concerned with quick/easy removal of the camera once attached to the mount and super precise placement isn't an issue, but you want a really sturdy mounting solution, this might be a really good option. Most of the cheaper desk mount camera stands were still pretty expensive and even the more expensive ones seem pretty flimsy, vs monitor stands where even the cheapest one still has to be able to support a pretty decent amount of weight. Also, since this just uses a standard 1/4 inch threaded stud, you could pretty much mount just about anything with that threading to it.

This was what I needed to setup my painting stream! Using a solid arm and pole makes such a difference. This is a must have adaptor.

I read the reviews that this mount is shaky when mounted to their dslr. I have found that this is not a problem. I am using a sony zv-e10 with a sigma 16mm 1.4 lens. Its a small camera but the lens has a lot of weight. Its been rock solid mounted with the extra tall monitor arm. I leave it set up all the time as I do white board animation and talking head shots every day. I used to have a tripod set up and it was a pain to have to set up and tear down every day. I have dogs, cats kids running in and out of my office all day long, my set up has never been at risk. The thing I found to be the best thing is the studio is set up all the time, so if you want to create a quick video on a trend, or capture a thought for quick turn around, there is no barrier. Its a easy a turn on the lights, turn on the camera, action.Again with all my reviews, this is the best price point to get this vital piece of a home desk studio.
