We used this to create a water ambiance and it worked wonderful for still and video media.

I cut this film to the same size as the skylight glazing and used masking tape to attach it to the inner surface of the glass. The film cuts down visible light by about 90% and significantly reduces heat transfer. Rooms are comfortable without air conditioning. From the exterior, the skylights appear reflective but not too different from an unmodified skylight.The mylar is durable and appears unlikely to tear so the plan is to remove the film at the end of the summer and reuse it next year.As mentioned in other reviews the reflective layer attached to the mylar is fragile and will scratch in normal handling; this is not a limiting factor for the use described here - minor scratches have little impact on the light transmittance or appearance from the exterior.Vivosun seems to me to be a cost-effective way of reducing heat load associated with skylights in summer.
