With photography projects that require product shots, I decided to grab this Food Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit as a way to help things look better, but for a reasonable price, easy set up, easy to use at home or take with, and had a nice, high quality to the resulting photos. Having used it twice, I come away very happy with the Food Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit and not only look forward to continue to use it for my photography projects, but I’m considering getting more backgrounds/kits from the Exzycke store here on Amazon and even more options for a great product.1. The Food Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit arrived well packaged and protected. I appreciate this as the kit consists of items you want to keep looking brand new. I appreciate when a product’s box/packaging is an option in which to store that product - it makes things easier. In this case I’m not 100% convinced I’ll be able to use this packaging long term, but for right now I am keeping the board and backgrounds in their original packing.2. Why is this important?This is a small, compact kit that works great at home/office with easy set up, take down, use, and while you can leave it out, it's small enough to be stored and out of the way. I would like it portable for use outdoors with natural light as well as indoors with lighting.So I would love to see them add some sort of carrying/storage case.For now, having a means by which I can store and transport the Food Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit is vital so I’m using the packing.The kit itself is perfect for staying in one place or taking it with. The photos I’ve included here were taken quickly in order to show how the Food Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit looks in action (no lighting set up) The size and set up of the Food Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit means you can easily set up outdoors.3. The board/foundation of the Food Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit is great.It is made of what I am assuming is some sort of thick cardboard. Folded into two sides, the two facing sides are all white, one outer side is black, the one has a metallic, mirror-like coating. I have not tried, but I am assuming you can flip the fold to use the outer sides in, but I think they are designed primarily for light. As I have only used the base as a base I cannot speak to the extents of using it beyond that. The board is thick, light, and easy to carry. It has a good/decent size for a range of product sizes without seeing unwanted background and perfect for my needs.4. The Food Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit includes two side L attachments used to hold the board open and upright and the bottom background sheet in place. An additional two clips hold the background sheet in the vertical position. All of the clips are great, well made, easy to get on and off, and hold the sheet(s) perfectly. I noted in the product pictures the vertical clips on the corners - they are shaped like a corner - but I found clipping at the top as good.The one “con” is the L shaped clips at the base are a bit loose. To be fair, they have to be in order to hold the board open AND keep the base background sheet in place. However, any time I moved the board even in the slightest I had to be sure not to let those L clips move or they’d drop, fall, slide off... it was a pain. But as I use it I will (hopefully) get used to holding them in place, but yeah, it’s still a pain.5. The background sheets are great. They are slick and the product page states they are waterproof. That means they should be easily cleaned. I hope to never have to find out, but it would be nice to have “water as an element” option.They have nice looks, come off looking great in images, and are a great size. I don’t know that I can over state how great they look - I have created some really amazing photos with them.In the end I am really thrilled to have gotten the Food Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit and know it is going to be used extensively. And as mentioned at the top, I like this thing so much that I am already looking at other options to get from the store that sells this Food Photography Photo Backdrops Board Kit here on Amazon.
