The model sent is different from the one in the picture... it's Walker's BEST version!This one is the X-TRM upgrade that has digital sound and Bluetooth!! It is a fantastic muff, and I'm surprised and happy with what I received.

After using a friend's Walker's Muffs (a model without blue tooth) I was so impressed, I had to have a pair and I ordered it the following day. However I upgraded to the more expensive model muffs with "Blue tooth". This model has very little volume control for ambient sound and simply seems to be either on or off at a low volume, The blue tooth feature is even worse. If there is any surrounding noise, you cannot hear the blue tooth speakers. These "X-trm" muffs are being returned. My problem is, I don't know if I have a defective pair or my experience is the norm. HOWEVER, I will probably Reorder the basic model my friend had purchased which I believe was the Walker's Razor model. FYI - I tried multiple batteries that tested above 1.5 volts each.

it looks like the new fad is earbud protection but after putting these on I'll never go that route. First of all, on the first order my package was stolen by pirates and when I called Amazon they couldn't help me because this seller chose a third party delivery. When I contacted the company they shipped a new one and informed me every step of the way on delivery. Love these guys and the product is 100%. Please support good businesses!!!!

I really wanted to like these. It's got 4 mics, gel cups, great sound suppressor response, but the feature that I was looking for, Bluetooth audio, was severely lacking.The headset itself connected quickly to my android phone, so no problem there. But the audio is very quiet. The volume control on the muffs does not control the playback volume, just adjusts ambient sounds. BT requires volume control on the phone, but it had zero effect as well. The more I turned it up, the more the audio crackled, as if I was overdriving the speakers. Meanwhile, the volume would not budge, but remained at the same soft level.The manual states if there was a low volume, or crackling sound, replace the batteries. I had just put in the batteries the muffs came with, but I popped them out for brand new ones. I could then turn up the phone control higher before the crackling started, but still no change in volume in the ear muffs.Finally, I was wearing the muffs while I tried to sort out the audio, and after several minutes, the top of the cuffs pressing near my temple on one side became too painful to ignore. I'm trying to adjust the cups, but with the substandard audio, it doesn't change my opinion much.So very disappointed 😞. They otherwise seem like well made equipment, but I'll have to return these and keep looking.

I have a set of older set Walker's Patriot Razor, supposedly analog VS these new digitals. I find the same level of background noise over voices and regular sound. The voices do appear a little clearer. For some reason, these are rated NPR 21 DB while the old ones and the regular digital are rated at NPR 23 DB. I have a feeling the gel pads may protect a little less. In indoor ranges, I always supplemented the electronic muffs with in-ear protection. Outdoors they work well as-is. I really don't see the difference between NPR 21 or 23 with the muffs on or off.I do find the gel pads much more comfortable and seal better around glasses. However not much difference with the headband. I could see it making a difference on a really hot day at an outdoor range.I like the design, they interfere the least when shooting rifles but I shoot mainly handguns.I've tried many of the popular brands but I like the fit of the Walker's on my head. As far as noise protection goes, I often double up due to rifles in indoor ranges so it's always more than adequate.As far as the overall sound quality, I do prefer the Peltor Sport Tactical 300 & 500, but they are not as thin and aren't as comfortable for me as the Walker's.
