I ordered this pop-up plug to replace the plug on our bathroom sink that has been ‘broken’ for a few years. Our old plug was moved up & down by a metal bar operated by a pull up lever but over the years the bar had rotted & snapped after constant contact with water. As an alternative I have been using rubber pop-up plugs which worked really well until the design was changed & the new ones leave a permanent puddle of water around the plug which then goes mouldy. As a temporary measure I’ve been using a drop in metal pop-up plug which is fine but I wanted something more permanent.This is a 1 ¼ inch (32mm) sink waste so you need to check your waste system is this size. Although the standard UK basin waste size is 1 ¼ inch (32mm) & the standard UK bath/sink waste size is 1 ½ inch (40mm) systems, I would still double check yours is correct before you dismantle your basin waste. The silicone gaskets & brass nut fit securely & it all seems to be water tight so far but I did also put some PTFE tape around the screw parts. The unit seems to be sound enough & has an all metal construction so should last well. The plug dome can be pulled out so it can be cleaned & hair removed.

Ich habe die Ablaufgarnitur für ein kleines Handwaschbecken in der Gästetoilette bestellt. Die Garnitur passte soweit recht gut. Aufpassen muss man mit dem Gewinde, das ist relative scharfkantig.Ansonsten ist der Ablauf relativ ordentlich gearbeitet. Wie lange die Chromschicht bei Nutzung/Reinigung überdauert wird die Zeit zeigen.Der Push-Pop ist noch relativ schwergängig, vielleicht legt sich das mit der Zeit.

My pop up waste had been broken for a while, with the top section having been discarded, leaving an ugly open hole in the sink. When I received this replacement, I realised that in actual fact the stem had snapped off my previous waste, so all I needed to do was get some pliers and remove the remainder of the stem. Then I was able to simply screw the new one in place.With this in mind, I can’t comment on the full functionality of the product, but I can say that the top part works perfectly fine, and that the overall finish is excellent. All parts are heavy and good quality, and the chroming is top notch. Very pleased with this simple repair - sink is looking like new again!
