I bought this bag for a 3-week sightseeing holiday and following that holiday I can now report back that I absolutely loved this bag. I used it every day. It's lightweight but well constructed. Lots of useful little compartments. I loved having the phone holder on the strap at the front and the rest of the bag on the side. My one small complaint is that by slightly chunkier water bottle doesn't fit in the mesh pocket on the side but it fitted fine inside the bag with other items I needed for th day. Fab.

The teal fabric is like a synthetic canvas, quite attractive, nearly too feminine for a man, but not quite. Attachment loops on both sides of the base mean the strap can be worn over either shoulder, and slung at the front or back. Loads of pockets, the strap pocket being ideal for a phone. Actually there's so much space that you start wondering why not just get a normal backpack - but it does pack down nice and small for use as a carry-on or breakout bag. Can you fit a laptop in it? No. But it would take a pad-type device, and it has an internal mesh separator for this. There are cheaper, less attractive, smaller alternatives available, and this hasn't become a bag I leave my stuff in by default.
