An absolute top performing pen. Excellent.

Mooie sierlijke pen met een heel lekker schrijvende penpunt. Zeker voor die prijs (ik betaalde €103) een aanrader.

Wat een genot om met deze vulpen te schrijven! Ligt goed in de hand. Je kan het ket dop gebruiken, maar ik vind het iets beter zonder dop. Ik heb het een tijdje gebruikt met de M-penpunt. Die valt wat breed uit naar mijn smaak. Ik heb daarna een F-penpunt aangeschaft en die bevalt me beter. De vulpen ziet er niet alleen fantastisch uit, maar ligt heerlijk in de hand, schrijft zo lekker... Het is echt een genot om ermee te schrijven. Is momenteel mijn favoriet. Een aanrader! Geweldige kwaliteit. Is wel een vingerafdrukmagneetje ;) dus hou een doekje in de buurt...

The pen is gorgeous, and the nib is smooth. However, the pen wrote blue when I had put orange ink, so it's actually a returned (or refurbished, 2nd hand, demo) pen, and should (by law) be advertised as such.

It writes like a thousand bucks and feels heavy and high-quality. Highly recommended!

Gorgeous looking and smooth writing instrument. It is what makes writing with a fountain pen a joy.

Stylo très élégant : lignes simples et épurées, matériaux de qualité et finition laquée splendide.Il est bien équilibré et son épaisseur est idéale (il n'est ni trop fin ni exagérément massif), ce qui procure une excellente tenue en main.La plume (taille moyenne) glisse parfaitement sur le papier, sans à-coups et sans accrocher : l'écriture est d'une fluidité remarquable. Le débit d'encre est régulier (pas de "démarrage difficile", notamment). Le tout en fait un stylo vraiment confortable à utiliser, y compris pendant des sessions d'écriture un peu longues.Un classique à la hauteur de sa réputation.

The pen writes a smooth wet line with a little bit of expression and nice feedback. The 18k nib has some flex but is fairly stiff for the alloy which was a little disappointing but to be expected with modern pens. The pen itself seems to be very well designed and feels very solid with good weight. Obviously though the reason to buy this pen, is the beautiful esthetic design of it which won't disappoint.

This is a very smooth fine nib that writes well out of the box. No hard starts no cartridge converter issues. No hard starts. No adjustments were needed. The deep burgundy brass lacquered finish is perfect. In hand, the pen feels slightly weightier than any Lamy Safari or TWSBI ECO pen I own.I first inked the pen with a Waterman Blue ink and made sure to saturate the feed properly. Read the instructions in the manual. I have used it over a period of two months and refilled the pen 4-5 times since.I deliberated between a medium and a fine nib for the Waterman Carène. Although generally I prefer medium nibs from LAMY or on gel or rollerball pens. The fine nib works well for me as a regular daily writer.I write mostly on modest fountain pen friendly notepad paper; from Rhodia, Fabriano, Campus Kokuyo to Maruman. The Japanese papers, Maruman or Kokuyo provide a smooth glide-like writing experience. 80gsm Rhodia, although popular with many fountain pen users; tends to feel a slight waxy on any fountain pen to my experience.The Carène puts lines on the page easily, with an easy, generous, smooth consistency. The internal ink feed for the Carène is a very long generous feed (You can’t disassemble it; but you can watch YouTube videos or pictures of people who have cracked the barrels open). In other words, when refilling the cartridges it’s good to prime the feed with ink since it will hold a little bit more ink for you between refills than what you see in the cartridge.I have not experienced any dry out issues even with the pen uncapped for an hour. A pen you can enjoy writing with at work, at home, or to sign that important document.

Very delightful pen to write with. Comes in very nice box. The design of this pen is simply exquisite. Expensive but I’d say worth it.
