I really wanted a digital picture frame that I could just hang on the wall without any cables sticking out, or batteries that would die in a week. This picture frame is perfect for this purpose, no cables and the battery should last for about a year. The picture quality is not the best, but from a longer distance it is not noticable.I do understand some of the other reviews that it can be a bit dificult to get started. I'm quite tech savy so I didn't have any issues, but documentation could be improved / expanded upon. Maybe with a step-by-step video?

This product is exactly the kind of photo frame I wanted. Since I've hung it in my bedroom, I specifically looked for an e-ink display, due to the fact that these displays don't emit any light. I have configured it to refresh photos once every 4 hours, which means that I'll have to charge the photo frame approximately once every 4 months. Please mind that, before using the frame, you'll have to put your photos on a FAT32-formatted SD-card, in a folder called 'pic'. Also, because the display is only capable of displaying 7 different colours, expect to do some tweaking to every photo you wish to display. I'd recommend using Gimp to first format your photos to a resolution of either 800x480p or 480x800p, then increase the contrast and then index the photos to the 7 colours the frame is capable of displaying, using dithering. Finally you'll have to export the photos to a 24-bit BMP file format, otherwise the frame won't read them.Originally the frame is limited to 100 pictures but there is a piece of code, available on Github, which increases the accepted number of pictures to 2000 and will display the pictures in a truly random order. All things considered, it's a great product - if you know how to use it.

This product maybe hard to use, because 1)on MacOS, it requires running command line tools to convert and upload photos, 2)image is grainy if you look close, and lack color saturation, because it only supports 7 colors, and the remaining color gamut is done via “dithering” - density of pixels like in newspapers or comics.Despite these odds, I really enjoyed the product, because 1)no cords, and huge battery life. 2)it does not emit light, so it can be used in the bedroom 3)image is somehow “pleasant” for eyes since it looks like paper, and I find myself checking it out from different angles and distances 4)looks like real photo frame with wooden siding 5)unique product, there is no other like thatI wish that the seller will build a new photo frame using the most recent eink tech with more colors as well as bigger size. I’ll certainly will buy several to place them around the house.
