I use this display to keep tabs on my computer temperature and usage.Overall the display itself is quite bright, it feels solid and the fact that it is powered by USB makes it a great option to use as portable monitor, maybe not to work on but to display information and such.The speakers in it are alright and they will do the job if your in need of sound

I couldn't get the waveshare display to work with my Mac mini. I've been unable to get the display setup in Mac OS at 400 x 1280 resolution. It worked right away in Windows. I tried to use the waveshare screen for MS Teams which somewhat worked... it allowed me to dedicate a screen for my Teams chat, but it doesn't give you a lot of room to see more than a few lines of chat. The most compelling use case I came up with was to keep the Task Manager open on the Performance tab to monitor CPU, Memory, Disk, WiFi, etc. It took a bit to figure out that pressing and holding the one button on the device adjusts the brightness of the screen. Overall a good device provided it is compatible with your device and you have something of value to present that fits the resolution of the screen.,
