Ce module est de bonne qualité (fabrication et fonctionnement) et plutôt pratique, pouvoir exposer des appareils normalement contrôlables via un port série sur un réseau Ethernet est un peu plus d'actualité aujourd'hui 🙂Ce n'est certes pas le genre de modules le plus facile à utiliser mais la documentation est fournie sur le wiki et c'est un trait inhérent à ce genre d'appareils inspiré du domaine industriel.

This has a metal casing and the quality feels good. It’s more than up to the task, which is mostly just being somewhere. Its durability seems good though and it should last.It performs exactly how you’d expect and it’s as described. The cost seems on par with others and as it works well I can say I’m happy with it

I got this to modernized my old projector that has an RS232 port. I have been wanting to upgrade my home theater with a smart projector for a fraction of the cost. This module has been working great for transmission if Mqtt messages if wifi. The setup of the module was simple and easy. I am glad that this module can be wall mounted for easy access. The only thing I didn't like is that it does not come with a 120v power supply.

I tested this converter with RS-485 and WiFi. I did not test either the RS-232 or Ethernet.I pretty much followed the configuration information in the manual (available for download on the vendor website, does not come with any documentation).To give a little more info on how I tested it, I used a USB to RS-485 converter on one computer, hooked the RS-485 output of that to the gateway/converter, then connected via WiFi direct connection on a laptop to the gateway. I had a terminal window open on each computer, one for the USB to RS-485 converter, one for the gateway/converter. I was able to pass characters from one terminal window to the other, bi-directionally, without issue. This could be used for multiple scenarios - Modbus polling, MQTT, text transmission, other things. I don't know what the limits are as to what you could or could not transmit, but it seems fairly open ended.Configuration of the device is intended to be by WiFi - that is its default configuration method, and I think you have to use a WiFi connection first to change it to something else. I only used it in WiFi, I didn't want to bother with changing my computer network settings for Ethernet (needs to be on the same subnet) for a connection via Ethernet. I don't think it allows configuration via RS-232 or RS-485.The web UI is reasonably straightforward to use. Again, I did minimal configuration changes and mostly used it in its default configuration. Things like baud rate adjustment, default IP address change, etc. are pretty easy to make. There are limited configuration options. In the event that something goes sideways (at one point I had set it to use the Ethernet port and that seemed to disable the WiFi), you can use the RELOAD button to revert to factory configuration and carry on from there.Power consumption is a little high, but then it is running a processor which is supporting serial communication and WiFi (or Ethernet if enabled) interfaces so there is that to consider. If using it in a battery powered application, plan accordingly. This is not an issue if using it in an AC powered situation.As for build quality it seems to be very good. I've worked with a number of industrial electronic components before, and this compares very well to other quality products. The case is mostly metal and sturdy. By default it has brackets installed for flat mounting (screwing to a flat metal panel or similar), but it can be modified to DIN rail mounting with the included mounting plate (remove the angle brackets and replace one of them with the DIN mount bracket). Spare screws are provided. A small screwdriver for use with the RS-485 and power terminals is included as well, and it comes with a WiFi antenna.

Gekauft um die Daten (RS485) unserer Samsung Wärmepumpe über WiFi abzugreifen. Einrichtung war einfach und das Umstellen auf STA hat ohne Probleme funktoniert. Läuft prima mit der 12V Versorgung von Samsung. Ideal für jeden der keine Ethernet Verbindung zur Verfügung hat.
