This is a fairly decent RS232/485 to Ethernet/PoE/Wi-Fi(n) serial server that's physically well-made and for the most part works as expected without issues; however, it does have multiple operating modes for Wi-Fi and Ethernet port along with several functional modes that can get somewhat confusing or even slightly complicated (especially for those who aren't well-versed in networking) depending upon your individual setup and needs.I won't go into any sort of details on the features since the manual (in its 76 pg.) explains pretty much everything you'd need to know although admittedly it does seem to lack clarity on certain key points in my mind. However, I'll say that it does work as intended but you'll need to choose the correct mode. The Ethernet port can be set to either LAN or WAN depending upon the operating mode needed.For most people who wanna remotely administrator and/or connect to the serial server, the device will need to be set to bridge mode for the Ethernet interface and STA for the Wi-Fi interface. A static IP is also required although I'm uncertain whether that's a functional requirement for the serial server or not (but I set it anyway). The default gateway will be obtained from the DHCP (can't be set directly, unfortunately) from the AP that it's connected to (or other devices on the same network as the AP).It does support PoE which I do appreciate and indeed that's one of the primary reasons for the order since that'd completely eliminate the needs for additional cable which in my mind is a must-have given the circumstance. Btw, it supports 802.11n for Wi-Fi and 100 Mbps (aka Fast Ethernet) for the RJ45 port. You can download additional software (e.g. SSCOM) for data transmission test from their website if needed. Wenn man sich mal durchgeschlagen hat läuft es zuverlässig, aber der Weg dahin ist steinig.Es gibt keine Informationen dazu welche Einstellungen sich gegenseitig ausschließen, d.h. entweder darfst du dann den Reset-Knopf drücken oder es funktioniert einfach unkommentiert nicht.Da kenne ich softwareseitig wesentlich bessere Produkte, aber die bekommt man halt nicht so einfach auf Amazon und/oder sind im Fach-/Großhandel deutlich teurer.

I received two units, the markings were two different colors. The default IP in the manual, or at least the manual I found for it is incorrect. The web interface is mostly useless; you can't set a default gateway address, so you have to be on the same subnet to access it. My employer does not allow the software that is apparently required to configure these to be installed on our computers, so this device is useless to me. I have no idea if it works for the intended purpose because I cannot configure it.

I got this serial server to control my older projector that has a RS232 port. I struggled a little bit with this device because the setup is a little bit difficult. Once I got all the configuration setup this little box is pretty amazing. I like that this box can be powered via POE cable which is great so I don't need to power this box separately. I also like that it comes with a lot of different mounting options.
