It doesn't come with instructions, but if you go to their website and type in the model number you'll find a very informative webpage dedicated to the device. They've done a great job in documenting the process in getting these to work. Also included for their devices is a WIKI page and sample applications and utilities to get you up and going.My photo shows standard DIN Rail fitment (does not come with the rail) but you can get these at your local electrical supplier or likely online for cheap.Powered up right away by providing it with POE network. I had a hard time finding what static IP this was set to until I downloaded their utility app which discovers it right away. Mine was set statically to 192.168.1.202, default password is 'admin'.It comes out of the box set to DHCP Server mode and seemed to work right away when I connected it to a USB-FTDI Comm port.I was getting some character translation errors which might be because my FTDI board is meant for 3.3V so please ignore that. I was getting consistent characters send back and forth straight out of the box.I think that Waveshare has done a great job in making these accessible to everyone, both from a documentation perspective and pricing. I think these are great for both the home hobbyist and industrial use as well - very good quality internally too.Highly recommended!

Es liegt wirklich nur der Adapter in der Verpackung, keine Anleitung, kein Link zu irgendetwas, gar nichts.Ok, also durch die Webseite des Herstellers wuseln bis man etwas gefunden hat.Die erste große Hürde war die Einbindung in mein Netzwerk.1. Der Adapter startet sofort an PoE, sehr schön. Aber nur mit 10MBit/s, der PoE Switch bzw. der Injektor muss das auch unterstützen.2. Und welche Adresse hat er nun? Per DHCP holt er sich schon mal nichts. Die Webseite suggeriert das es die 192.168.1.200 sein könnte. Google schlägt auch die 192.168.1.254 vor.Beide Adressen waren bei mir natürlich schon belegt. Der Switch hatte mir die MAC-Adresse des Adapters verraten (laut Internet sind die MAC die mit 28-68-53 beginnt übrigens keinem Hersteller zugeordnet).Letztendlich hatte sich das Gerät die 192.168.1.202 geschnappt, mit einer falschen Subnetmaske, aber ich kam nun ran.Ich mache das eigentlich beruflich, aber so etwas hatte ich noch nicht erlebt.Die Weboberfläche (siehe Bild) ist alles was man bekommt. Es gibt auf der Herstellerseite auch einen virtuellen Treiber für Windows (bindet das Gerät als lokalen COM-Port ein) und eine Management-Software auf der man - fast - alles ändern kann was auch auf der Webseite geht.Die Software hat den Vorteil das es die Geräte im Netzwerk schnell findet, also nehmt doch bitte gleich die Software (und gebt euch eine IP im 192.168.1.x Netzwerk).Nach etwas googeln bekam ich es zum Laufen. Wegen den Aufwand mit der IP ziehe ich einen Stern ab. Ich wäre geneigt noch einen Stern abzuziehen. Aber wenn man es erst einmal zum Laufen hat geht es. Und der Preis ist günstig.

This unit works really well, it was easy to install and use. It has been working really well. Well made product. Highly recommend it. I have not had any issues with it so far.
