This is not a HAT that most people would really look for as it's a niche product but it fit my needs perfectly for handling RS485 CAN. Installation is easy as it just slips right on your PI and setup is straight forward if you know what your doing (Odds are if you need RS485 your already familiar with the setup).Build quality is good and I haven't had any issues with the product so far with the communications being stable.

Une carte d'extension pour Raspberry Pi munie d'un connecteur 40 broches qui permet de se connecter à un bus CAN (Controller Area Network) utilisé dans l'industrie et l'automobile mais qui dispose également d'un adaptateur RS485 pour des communications série longue distance. Pour le bus CAN l'interface physique est assurée par le circuit SIT635HDV230DR, et c'est le fameux MCP2515 qui assure la fonction de contrôleur CAN (version v2.0 du protocole). Ce contrôleur s'interface avec le Raspberry Pi via une interface SPI.Pour la documentation, le schéma de la carte et les codes exemples, je vous conseille de consulter la page wiki du constructeur ; elle es très complète avec des exemples en python s'appuyant ou pas sur la librairie WiringPi ainsi qu'en langage C.

The onboard CAN controller MCP2515 via SPI interface, along with the transceiver SN65HVD230, provided stable CAN communication. Apparently, the RS485 communication supports automatic TX/RX control without the need for programming, thanks to the onboard transceiver SP3485.The board comes with a reliable safety feature: the onboard TVS (Transient Voltage Suppressor) effectively suppresses surge voltage and transient spike voltage in the circuit.📝 Conclusion:I found the Waveshare RS485 CAN HAT to be a versatile and valuable component. It's compatibility with Raspberry Pi Series Boards make it a great fit for a wide range of projects. Its dual-functionality, robust communication features, and built-in protection mechanisms make it suitable for various projects.

The Waveshare RS485 CAN HAT Compatible with Raspberry Pi Series Board is a good quality board to interface your Pi to RS485 interface devices or for long distance serial transmission between two Pi computers.There is good documentation on the manufacturer's Wiki to help you with interface programming and plenty of examples available.A well built board that does the job.Recommended.

Der Waveshare RS485 CAN HAT zur Unterstützung der Raspberry Pi Serie ist gut verpackt angekommen. Ich habe einen Solarbalkon installiert und möchte ihn überwachen, um herauszufinden, wie viel Strom ich produziere. Dafür möchte ich ein WiFi DTU (Datenübertragungseinheit) erstellen und benötige dafür verschiedene Module, einschließlich der Pi Series Boards, eines USB-Moduls und eines WiFi-Moduls. Ich plane, diese nach und nach zu bestellen. Hoffentlich bin ich auf dem richtigen Weg damit. Es handelt sich um einen Versuch, und dieses Modul soll mir dabei behilflich sein.Die Qualität und der Preis sind in Ordnung. Ich kann es weiterempfehlen.
