Productbeschrijving

WayinTop: wij willen je werk eenvoudiger en leuker maken.
Specificaties:
Fotoweerstandsensor lichtdetector module:
Penlijst: 4-pins
Bedrijfsspanning: 3,3 V - 5 V.
Afmetingen printplaat: 2,7 cm x 1,4 cm.
Afmetingen (l x b): ca. 3,2 cm x 1,4 cm.
Uitgang: DO digitale schakeluitgang (0 en 1), AO analoge uitgangsspanning
4 draads Interfaces:
- Beeld: positieve voeding 3.3-5 V.
- GND: voeding is negatief.
- DO: TTL schakelsignaaluitgang
- AO: analoge uitgang
Gebruik:

This module is easy to use and provides both an analog (0-5 VDC) output and a digital 0/5 vdc (Low/High) output. The digital output switches from high to low based on light level and has an adjustable trigger point to control at what light level it switches. Like most similar modules, the output is opposite of what you might expect. In other words, the output goes high in low light and low in bright light.I'll provide some detail below about linearity and other features that may sound negative - it's not. I rated this module highly because it suits the purpose it is made for very well, is very cost-effective, comes in a very useable plug-in form factor and provides a very clear change of output for even small changes in light. The threshold for switching the digital (DO) output is extremely sensitive and can switch on less than 1 Lux change in light. Also because the device delivered matches the information provided on the providers product page -- rarer than one would expect these days. As an aside, I have had positive experiences with every product I have purchased from WayinTop.I bought this device primarily to sense light level changes, not necessarily in Lux or foot-candles, just a relative reading I could use with an Arduino. It worked very well for that. I did some comparison measurements alongside my Dr. Meter light meter (see photo). The WayinTop module was very sensitive but not particularly linear. As indicated in the product info on Amazon, the module has an analog output (labeled AO) and a digital output (labeled DO). I connected AO directly to an analog input of the Arduino and ran a short sketch to display the output on a scale of 0-1023 "units". The sketch also "inverted" the output reading to provide a positive/higher reading for a brighter light. At 16.9 foot-candles (FC) the Arduino was reading 860 units, at 13 FC the Arduino read 830 and at 7 FC the Arduino read 708. This demonstrates that the WayinTop module can distinguish clearly a light change of just a few footcandles.Using my meter in the Lux mode and comparing readings in bright light vs. dim is where the non-linearity became obvious. In fairly bright light the Arduino read 876 units when the light meter read 214 Lux, and Arduino read 892 at 267 Lux. In the bright ranges a change of 100 Lux would yield a change of about 40 units on the Arduino and at the dim light ranges a change of 20 Lux would yield a change of almost 300 units. Again, this did not effect my rating because I just wanted a detectable change when the light changed - linearity or direct conversion to Lux wasn't important to me.But if high dynamic range and easy conversion to Lux is important to you, you should consider other products. Look for products that DON'T use a photoresistor for the sensing element, as this one does. There is a product from a very popular Maker on Amazon which advertises those characteristics. I understand it works very well in that application -- AND it will cost you about 10X what this module costs. As with all these gadgets, buy what suits your application. If you're looking for an inexpensive though well-built module that is easy to interface, easy to adjust and sensitive I don't think you can go wrong with this module from WayinTop.Oh - I mention using this with a microcontroller platform like Arduino or RPi but the DO output could switch a small relay "module" directly if you didn't need programmable integration. I don't recommend driving a relay directly. Rather use one of the inexpensive digital relay modules readily available from Amazon and other sources. Hope this is useful.
