This is a great hard drive. I previously had a 1 TB hard drive of WD and that worked really fine. That is why I decided to go for a 2TB hard drive of WD. Though, Seagate hard drives are much better than WD because they are thinner and they sustain for a long time like WD.I purchased it @Rs. 5599.Pros-1. WD is a very reliable name in the field of hard drives. So it is reliable.2. 2-year warranty.3. small in size.4. Reading speed is amazing. I got around 150 MBps/ 1.2 Mbps while reading. (Data was a movie and USB port was USB 3.0)5. Writing speed is also great. I got around 55 MBps/ 440 Mbps while writing on the hard drive. (Data was a movie and USB port was USB 3.0)6. The speed of reading and writing on USB 2.0 ports is also great.7. USB 3.0 cable is already included in the package. So you don't need to purchase a USB 3.0 cable separately.8. The length of the cable is enough for normal usage.9. The product is original. So you can get is registered on WD website. You will also get your warranty from there.10. Cheaper than Seagate models. (in general)Cons-1. If you are in need of a long USB 3.0 cable then you will be disappointed. The length of the cable is just enough for normal usage.2. The hard drive is somewhat thick. You will get a Seagate hard drive of the same capacity to be slimmer.Final comment- If the price is not a big issue for you and you want a slimmer hard drive then go for Seagate hard drive. Else this is certainly one of the best choices.

Talvez seja importante destacar uma característica que muita gente não entende sobre dispositivos de memória: eles NUNCA vem com a disponibilidade nominal. Por exemplo, este produto possui 2TB de capacidade nominal, porém ao aferir a capacidade total na sua máquina você verá 1,81TB de capacidade. Mas você pode verificar que isso também acontece com o notebook/desktop que, teoricamente, possui 500GB (ou 512GB) de memória, mas ao verificar essa informação você verá que a memória total é de 465GB. Pen drives também seguem um padrão semelhante. Há sempre uma diferença de +-10% entre a capacidade nominal e a capacidade real.Sobre o produto em si, não tenho o que reclamar. Atendeu muito bem minhas expectativas. Eu tinha interesse em muitos conteúdos gravados num desktop e num notebook. Gostaria de ter fácil acesso a tudo isso sem ter que me conectar a essas máquinas e como um pen drive não daria conta (além de eu fazer questão de não usar armazenamento em nuvem, para não depender de internet), optei pela compra do HD externo. Coube todos os arquivos que entupiram as duas máquinas (animes, filmes, séries, seriados, músicas etc.) e ainda sobrou mais da metade da memória livre. Além do mais, ele é compatível com USB 3.0 que permite leitura e gravação em velocidade muito superior ao "USB comum" ou 2.0 e é QUASE tão portátil quanto um celular.As únicas coisas que eu destacaria como negativas na compra é que o material plástico da parte externa do produto me parece um pouco frágil (não quebrou, nem rachou, nem descascou: é só uma sensação de fragilidade mesmo) e, por se tratar de uma tecnologia que envolve disco magnético em seu interior, é recomendável ter um cuidado maior do que aquele que você tem com o seu celular, em termos de manuseio e transporte, aumentando assim a vida útil do equipamento. Outro ponto negativo é o comprimento do cabo USB que acompanha o produto: cerca de 30cm, o que é equivalente a uma régua escolar comum, ou seja, recomendo não movimentar o produto enquanto estiver em uso. O manual que acompanha o dispositivo tem pouquíssimos trechos em português, muito embora o funcionamento seja tão simples quanto o de um pen drive, já que há a tecnologia "plug-and-play", onde basta conectar o equipamento à máquina principal para que automaticamente seja configurado e liberado para uso (para quem usa Windows, como eu, não tem muito segredo, mas se você é usuário Mac vai ter que formatar o produto antes de poder usá-lo [ah, ele vem com um arquivo para instalação], só não sei dizer se há algum tipo de implicação disso para quem usa Linux).Não consegui fazer a instalação do Android Studio no HD externo, porém consegui rodar o Arduíno, então se você tiver intenção de adquirir este dispositivo para usar com ambientes de desenvolvimento/programação, seria importante confirmar os requisitos prévios de instalação da IDE antes de fazer a compra. Em contrapartida, o produto pode ser usado para salvar os projetos elaborados nessas IDEs sem nenhum problema.CONCLUSÃO: para quem visa ter espaço para armazenamento de arquivos pesados ou em grande quantidade, a um preço razoável e sem comprometer a memória da sua máquina principal nem depender de conexão com internet para acesso, recomendo a compra dum HD externo como este.
