I got this to punch through homeschool curriculum - was a bit worried having to punch so many holes per page, and despite it being easy to use I do find it easy to slip a little and punch out of alignment. Thankfully the spirals are quite forgiving and it's been successful overall and am very happy with the purchase. It's much smaller than a binding machine, and very versatile. You can punch through around 5 pages or 2 plastic cover pages at a time easily enough. Definitely a 3:1 pitch. I have found you need to empty the punched hole collector pretty often, otherwise it pops open on its own which can be quite surprising to be covered in paper mid punch. For A4 size if you line up with the 1 for the first punch, I've found you need to move your paper back to only punch 1 hole at the end otherwise you punch off the end of your page.

I like this little hole punch! I am able to keep the hole spacing perfect with the spacing projection next to the hole punchers. I would like to see a larger waste receptacle on it, but it works great. I was punching 6 and 7 sheet at a time.
