Wiha Voltage Detector have used it a few times around the house while adding new socket spurs and when your looking for live detection, it lights up a nice red glow as you can see in pictures, these were taken at night to give more impact its also non-contact within 4mm which is great because it means you don't have to touch wires or push into sockets and you can also run it down cables to see if there's a break anywhere.
