A great blend of sable and synthetic. This is a much better brush compared to the synthetic Raphael brushes I have used. This number 2 was quite fine. I'm using it for pen and ink and I can maintain just as fine a line with a number 4 of the same brush with some brush control. I might try out a number 1 or zero rigger to maintain the fine lines on vellum or watercolor paper, where nibs catch and can splatter, or maybe I can just get better with the 4.

Okay, first I off I think I should say that I only bought these (this) for makeup because I was experimenting with filling in my brows. The reason I bought these (this) is because I was TOTALLY MISLEAD BY THE PICTURE AND DESCRIPTION. I assumed I was buying these (this) as a set, like in the picture. I'm no pro artist, and I wanted a small one, so when searched, it came up with this. I saw one I would like in the picture, and thought it was a great deal because I would get all the rest in the picture too. It DOES SAY "Brushes", and I assumed that "round no. 101" meant some kind of brush line, not a single brush. So I was very dissatisfied and mislead with the prodcut. It was too large to even use it for what I intended it for- strokes that look like hairs.I guess for painting it would be okay. This isn't for minute details, and there isn't a lot of hairs- and the hairs are kind of staggered so they kind of "lead up" to a point- so they spread a lot when you press it on something. These (this) Winsor & Newton Sceptre Gold II Short-Handle Paint Brushes size 2 round no. 101 are nothing they are (is) expected to be.BAD SELLER- didn't even bother sending it back because I though it would be to much hassle, even though I opened the package and only one stinking, small-headed, 9 dollar brush was there.

A great paintbrush but some of the bristles were bent over in the cap.
