I gotta say, I'm impressed with the quality of these soft charcoal sticks. It rubs right off when you need to make adjustments. Blends well with the paint when you trace the lines with a brush. It's best for when you're trying to mock-up an improvement on a work in progress. If you don't like it, it washes away very nicely.One container is about as much as a person could use in a lifetime, but if I ever need more I won't hesitate to buy this again.Nice to see quality work.

These charcoal stick are very uniform in nature and can even be sharpened if you are very careful but don’t expect the point to last long! I found it far easier to use edges as you draw.

These are my favourite charcoal sticks for mark making. They come in a really nice beautiful round tube for keeping them safe. There is a good variance in the sizes, and it includes the thickest Willow charcoals I’ve used. Other willow charcoals I bought on Amazon snapped as soon as you made a dramatic mark. These ones haven’t snapped yet despite doing six pages of vigorous marks. Obviously they would be easy to snap if you want to have a smaller piece, but it’s great that you can do dramatic marks without them falling apart on you. I would really recommend these as the perfect beginner set, but also great for professionals who want a range of sizes and robust sticks that don’t break on you all the time.
